TEAM & INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
GRASONVILLE, Md. --- The LIU Brooklyn men's golf team competed in the Towson Spring Invitational in Grasonville, Maryland this weekend, in their penultimate event before the NEC Championships later this month. The Blackbirds finished twelfth in a field of 17 schools at Prospect Bay Country Club.
Junior Daniel Reale was the top LIU finisher in the two-round event, with rounds of 76 and 79, for a 155 (+11) on the par 72 course. Reale had an eagle on Day one at Towson and had four birdies in his two rounds.
Freshman Manuel Sosa (82-78) was second on the squad for the second straight event at 16-over shooting 160, tying for 44th place. Senior Kyle Maihi finished one stroke behind Sosa at +17 with a 161 (82-79), tying for 51st place. Next up was freshmen Jayden Brown (T-64th; 20-over 164 / 84-80) and senior Victor Aronsson (T-75th; 23-over 167 / 80-87) rounded out the Blackbirds squad.
As a team, the Blackbirds finished with rounds of 320 and 316 (636), to put them at 60-over and in 12th place in the final standings. St. Bonaventure won the Towson Invitational with a 27-over 603.
Next week, LIU will head up to Milford, Connecticut for the Sacred Heart Spring Invitational from April 15-16, in their final event prior to the NEC Championships in Daytona Beach, Fla. at the end of the month.
