Emma Compagna begins her first season with the LIU Brooklyn field hockey program in 2017. Compagna comes to Brooklyn after serving as an assistant coach at Boston College.
Compagna was responsible for working with the Eagles’ attack, as well as handling the team’s administrative matters while at Boston College. While with the Eagles, Compagna helped the program reach the ACC quarterfinals and the NCAA tournament’s first round.
A 2016 graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Compagna was a four-year letterwinner for the Wildcats and senior captain. She appeared in all 82 of the Wildcats’ games during her four seasons in Durham, scoring eight goals and adding three assists. She helped the Wildcats win the 2013 America East Championship, and was part of the team’s NCAA Tournament squad the same season.
The Canton, Mass., product graduated from Canton High School in 2012 after a stand-out career in three sports: field hockey, ice hockey and lacrosse. She was a Hockomock League all-star and Boston Globe All-Scholastic in 2011 as a senior, and helped pace Canton to four straight Hockomock league titles and Easter Mass South Sectional titles (2008-11).
