Rosario Composto was one of the nation's premier defenders during his time in Downtown Brooklyn. Composto anchored a defense that allowed less than a goal per match over his career, and helped the Blackbirds to a remarkable 37-4-5 record and three straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament during his three varsity seasons. As a senior, he earned honorable mention All-America honors and was a first-round draft pick of the New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League. He was also a member of the 1974 United States Olympic Soccer Team.
