Nichole Lopez was a standout in both women's soccer and lacrosse at LIU Brooklyn, earning all-conference honors in both sports during her career. She was a First Team All-NEC selection as a senior in lacrosse, and at the conclusion of her career held program records in ground balls and caused turnovers. She still holds single-season marks in ground balls, caused turnovers and draw controls. On the soccer pitch, Lopez tallied 12 goals and 15 assists and tied a then single-season record with eight assists in 2003. She was a two-time All-NEC performer including a first-team nod in 2004, and also lettered in softball, indoor track & field and cross country during her time at LIU.
