The 1967-68 men’s basketball team was the top-ranked small college team in the country by both the AP and UPI with a 22-2 mark. Under the guidance of head coach Roy Rubin and led by All-Americans Larry Newbold and Luther Green, the Blackbirds advanced to the NIT Quarterfinals after opening the season with 20-straight wins.
