Luther Green was a key member of the men’s basketball team from 1966-69.
A 1968 Associated Press All-America choice and a two-time UPI All-American, Green helped the Blackbirds to a 61-15 mark in his three years, including a Tri-State League title in 1966-67. The 1967-68 team advanced to the National Invitation Tournament and was the top-ranked small college team in the nation.
He tallied 1,286 points and 908 rebounds in his career and went on to play for the New York Nets of the American Basketball Association.
