Softball player Natalie Jufer was a standout on the Blackbirds from 1988-90. The speedy outfielder led the Blackbirds to three straight NEC championships. 

A two-time GTE Academic All-America First Team selection and a two-time Northeast Conference Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year choice, she graduated with the second-highest lifetime batting average (.360) of any LIU player with more than 300 at bats. 

She batted .424 as a junior, .392 as a sophomore and ranked in the all-time top five in runs (126), home runs (10) and stolen bases (53) at the time of her induction.
