Jeanette Saunds was the first player in LIU women’s basketball history to score more than 1,000 points and grab more than 1,000 rebounds in her career (1,178 pts; 1,034 rebs.).  

A member of the Blackbirds from 1986-90, she ranked fifth all-time in scoring and second in rebounding when she was inducted.

The Blackbirds improved in the win column in each of her four years at the school.
