Ed “Cornflakes” Johnson is one of the all-time greats in the men’s basketball program, having played for the Blackbirds from 1961-64. He scored a team-high 19.9 points per game in his first season and paced the squad in his final campaign with 22.0 points. A great rebounder for his size, he led the team with 11.5 caroms per contest in 1961-62. Johnson led the Blackbirds to a pair of top-four finishes in the Tri-State League in his three seasons.
