Lamont Benjamin was a standout sprinter for the Blackbirds from 1995-98. He graduated as the school-record holder in four events and still holds the top times in the indoor 55-meter dash (6.35) and the outdoor 100-meter (10.50) and 200-meter (20.94). Benjamin claimed seven individual Northeast Conference titles in his career, including three straight wins in the 55-meter dash. He capped his illustrious career with wins in the 100- and 200-meter dashes at the 1998 NEC Outdoor Championships.
