John Grasser was a goalkeeper of some of the great Long Island teams from 1968-72. He helped LIU record a 26-3-2 mark and advance to the NCAA Tournament during his junior and senior seasons. A two-time All-Met selection, he helped the Blackbirds earn a No. 7 ranking nationally in 1972 after collecting six shutouts en route to a 14-1-1 record. The 1971 squad was ranked No. 9 nationally and went 12-2-1 when Grasser posted three clean sheets. Grasser was also an all-state performer as a senior.
