Alan Hernandez played for the LIU men’s basketball team following “Operation Rebound” and emerged as one of the first dominant players on those early teams. In three seasons he compiled 1,064 points and was the team’s leading scorer as a junior and senior. He also led the team in rebounding as a junior when he led the Blackbirds to the first of back-to-back winning seasons.
