Brooklyn, N.Y. - Following its home game against Fairleigh Dickinson on Jan. 16, the LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team and coaching staff took part in a youth clinic at the Wellness Center.
Over 100 children along with their parents were on hand to take part in the event, which featured a "skills and drills" portion that had six different stations where the kids were taught fundamentals from current Blackbird players.
Head women's basketball coach Gail Striegler addressed the group following the station breakdown, and a brief question-and-answer session took place with the kids asking the student-athletes about what it was like being a college basketball player.
An autograph session was held following the clinic, allowing the kids to have posters which were handed out to the group to be signed by members of the team.
