Women's Basketball Comes Home to Roost in Steinberg Wellness Center, Hosting CCSU Monday Night

• LIU leads the all-time series, 15-11, but the Blue Devils have the most recent win in the books, as CCSU beat the Blackbirds last season.
• The loss included an LIU rally that fell shorts, as the Blackbirds came within six points of Central Connecticut State with just over two minutes to play, but the Blue Devils held on to take the win, 63-54. Krystal Wells led LIU with 15 points, while Cleandra Roberts had 12 points and seven rebounds. Letava Whippy added eight points, five rebounds and three steals in the loss.
• LIU and CCSU also met just once in 2011-12 with the Blackbirds earning a 57-43 victory at the Wellness Center. Under Beryl Piper, the Blue Devils are 3-7 all-time against the Blackbirds.

SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS
•  This is the first trip to LIU for the Blue Devils since the 2011-12 season. CCSU is currently 7-6 overall, and 1-2 in the NEC, after earning a win over Wagner Saturday, 80-71.
• The Blue Devils pulled down a season-high 58 rebounds on Saturday at Wagner.
• Before Staten Island, the Blue Devils lost a shoot-out to Saint Francis U, 106-97 in overtime. It was the third-highest scoring game in NEC history, and was the second highest point total for a CCSU team. And the 203 combined points were the most in any CCSU women's basketball game.
•  The Blue Devils are averaging 78.7 points per game in NEC play, almost 15 points higher than their non-conference average of 66.8 points per game.
•  Senior Jessica Babe ranks ninth in the NEC in scoring (13.2 ppg), first in assists per game (5.0),  second in steals per game (2.33) and 12th in rebounds per game (6.3).
