BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball hits the road after their home opening weekend. The Blackbirds will travel south to Annapolis, Md., to take on Navy, Wednesday, December 2 at 7 p.m. in Alumni Hall. LAST TIME OUT
•The Blackbirds now stand at 1-3 on the season, after a weekend hosting #14 Florida State and Sam Houston State in the annual LIU Brooklyn Turkey Classic. LIU dropped both games over the weekend.
• The Blackbirds fell to FSU Friday, 78-42. LIU held #14 Florida State to 78 points, tying the Seminoles' lowest point total of the season. Sophomore Paris Jones led LIU with 12 points, going 4-for-8 from the field, along with a team-high three steals and two assists.
• Sunday in the Barclays Center, LIU dropped a 63-56 decision to Sam Houston State. Jones led LIU for the second game in a row, with 13 points, going 4-for-8 from behind the arc. Junior Shanovia Dove added 12 points, while sophomore DeAngelique Waithe had her first collegiate double-double, with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Shanice Vaughan added 10 points, while sophomore Stylz Sanders had a career-high 10 rebounds and five steals.

SCOUTING THE MIDSHIPMEN
• Navy comes into the midweek contest 4-2 overall. In last weekend's Navy Classic, the Midshipmen beat Siena, 59-58 in overtime, before falling to Colorado State in double overtime, 82-73 Saturday. Navy has wins over Saint Peter's University (50-39), as well as North Carolina A&T and Elon (in double overtime). Navy's other loss came in their season opener at Hofstra, 65-63.
• Navy has had three overtime games this season, including two double overtime games, going 2-1 in extra periods. They have also had two other games decided by four points or less so far this year. The Midshipmen are also 3-1 at home so far in 2015-16.
•  Navy was picked to finish sixth in the Patriot League pre-season poll, returning four starters and 10 letter winners from a team that went 17-14 last year.
• Junior guard Sarita Condie leads Navy's scoring, at 14.0 points per game, along with 4.3 rebounds per game, a team-high 24 assists, and 12 steals. Junior forward Ashanti Kennedy adds 13.8 points per game and leads Navy on the boards with 6.7 rebounds per game. Junior guard Justice Swett has a team high 15 steals, and is second on the team with 6.2 rebounds per game.

ALL-TIME SERIES
• The two teams have faced off four times in program history, and LIU is in the deficit, 1-3 all time.
• But the Blackbirds have the most recent win on the books, as LIU won the last matchup, a 51-49 decision in November of 2006.

• The Blackbirds will return home to the Steinberg Wellness Center to host three straight games. First, LIU welcomes Colgate, Saturday, December 5 at 2 p.m. LIU will the host NJIT, Tuesday, December 8 at 7 p.m., and Columbia, Monday, December 14 at 7 p.m.
