BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team is hitting the road for five straight road games this week, beginning at Stony Brook, Monday, December 21. The Blackbirds will take on the Seawolves in Pritchard Gymnasium at 6 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
•  The Blackbirds lost a tough game to Columbia Monday, as LIU scored 14 points in the final 44 seconds of play in the Steinberg Wellness Center, closing Columbia's lead to just eight points. But it was not enough, as the visiting Lions rallied in the final seconds to take the win, 84-74.
•  Despite the loss, LIU had several team highlights. As a team, the Blackbirds had season highs in assists (17), three-pointers made (12), and blocks (4). LIU also had a season-low 13 turnovers. The 12 three-pointers made matches the program record, set in 2000, for made threes by a team.
•  Junior Shanovia Dove led LIU with 21 points, including shooting 6-for-8 from long distance. Junior Brianna Farris had 20 points, including 12 in the final 44 seconds of the game. Farris went 5-for-6 from behind the arc, and a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line. She also had a career-high six rebounds in the loss. Senior Ashley Brown had 10 points and a career-high in both assists (5) and rebounds (3), while senior Jolanna Ford added 10 points, seven rebounds, and a career-high two blocks.

ALL-TIME SERIES
• The LIU-Stony Brook rivalry is one of the oldest in program history. The two teams have met up eight times, dating back to 1968, when LIU's program was only in its third season.
• The Blackbirds and the Seawolves have met eight times since, with LIU holding the all-time advantage, 6-2, including winning the last three. The last time the two squads met in 2011, however, it was a close one, with LIU taking the 66-59 win in overtime at Stony Brook.
