2015-16 Schedule
BROOKLYN, N.Y. – LIU Brooklyn women's basketball head coach Stephanie Oliver released the Blackbirds' non-conference slate this week, and it features two tough tournaments, and six games at home in the Steinberg Wellness Center.
LIU has a total of 12 non-conference games scheduled before the start of Northeast Conference play on January 2. The full NEC schedule will be released later this fall.
The Blackbirds open the 2015-16 season on the road, Saturday, November 14, traveling north to take on Buffalo. LIU then heads south for a match-up against Howard University, Sunday, November 22, before returning to Brooklyn.
The Blackbirds' home opener will follow the season-opening road trip. LIU will host the 11th annual LIU Brooklyn Turkey Classic, Friday, November 27-28. The Blackbirds will welcome Sam Houston State, Florida State and Texas Southern to the Steinberg Wellness Center for the two-day event.
LIU hits the road for a game at Annapolis against Navy, Wednesday, December 2, before returning to the next for a three-game home stand. The Blackbirds will host Colgate (Dec. 6), NJIT (Dec. 9) and Columbia (Dec. 14), before returning to the road right in time for the holiday season.
The Blackbirds have two final tune-ups in December before NEC play begins: LIU will take on Stony Brook on the road, Monday, December 21, before migrating south to wrap up non-conference play. The Blackbirds will take part in another two-day tournament at Florida Atlantic University, December 29-30. There, LIU will go up against Miami (OH), Florida Atlantic and Bethune Cookman at FAU Arena.
