JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The LIU Brooklyn men's soccer team fell to Saint Peter's, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon. The meeting was the first between the Blackbirds and the Peacocks since 1992.
Redshirt freshman
Romario Guscott had an early header shot for LIU in the fourth minute that went high. In the ninth minute, Guscott got the ball past the keeper, but the Peacocks made a defensive save.
St. Peter's scored the first goal of the game in the 17th minute, dribbling down the field to find the back of the net. Guscott got yet another shot off in the 18
th minute for the equalizer that went high. Senior captain
Jacob Smith blocked a shot from St. Peter's Luke Fairlamb in the 21st minute, to keep the margin at just 1-0.
Sophomore keeper
Cole Palmer stopped a shot from St. Peter's Michael Crentsil in the 23
rd minute and collected the loose ball, regaining possession for the Blackbirds.

Naeem Charles got the ball to freshman
Rasmus Hansen inside the box for an opportunity to score later in the first half, but the shot went wide. The Peacocks led the Blackbirds 1-0 going into the second half.
St. Peter's scored its second goal of the match in the 55th minute, with Louis Mobbs scoring his second for the Peacocks, bringing the score to 3-0 in the 69th minute.
Senior
Tanner Sica got the ball to Hansen, who scored his fifth goal of the season to get the Blackbirds on the board in the 74
th minute. But the offense could not cut into the deficit further down the stretch. With the loss, the Blackbirds move to 2-5-1 on the season.
