BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team will host its second game in three days in the Steinberg Wellness Center, this Tuesday, November 15. The Blackbirds will welcome George Mason to downtown Brooklyn; tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

LIU dropped its season opener to visiting Army Saturday night, as the Blackbirds fell to the defending Patriot League champions, 68-47. Freshman
Aja Boyd led LIU in her collegiate debut, with nine points, seven rebounds, three blocks and a steal.
SCOUTING THE PATRIOTS
George Mason comes into the matchup with a 1-1 record, having won their home opener over Radford, 70-56, before falling on the road to Delaware, 67-51. Through those two games, the Patriots are led by senior Kara Wright. The guard/forward is averaging 19.5 points per game, along with 6.0 rebounds per game, and a team-high five steals.
This is the first meeting between LIU Brooklyn and George Mason women's basketball. Mason returns eight letterwinners and four starters from a team that went 12-19 a year ago, 6-10 in Atlantic 10 play and reached the quarterfinals of the league tournament. The Patriots welcome six newcomers who are eligible to play this season
