BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team concludes its three-game stretch on the road this weekend, taking part in the TD Bank Classic hosted by the University of Vermont, Friday, November 25 and Saturday, November 26.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
The Blackbirds kick off the tournament taking on the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Friday, November 25 at 5 p.m. The host Catamounts will play NJIT in the second semifinal of the day at 7 p.m. Saturday's action features a consolation game at 5 p.m., followed by a tournament championship game between the two winning teams, slated to tip off at 7 p.m.

- LIU Brooklyn enters the weekend 0-3, after falling to No. 7/8 Ohio State Saturday afternoon at Value Center Arena, 113-54. Redshirt sophomore guard Drew Winter led the Blackbirds with 12 points in the loss, while senior guard Brianna Farris added 10 points.
- Senior guard Shanovia Dove leads the team so far this season, with a 12.7 points per game average. Winter averages 8.3 points per game, and freshman forward Aja Boyd averages 7.3 points per game.
- In their three games, the Blackbirds have three different leading scorers; Boyd scored nine points to lead the Blackbirds in their loss to Army, 68-47, while Dove led LIU with 21 points in its loss to George Mason, 64-48.
- Milwaukee comes into the tournament with a 3-1 record. The Panthers have won their last two games, beating Loyola-Chicago, 73-46, and in-state rival University of Wisconsin, 80-63. Junior forward Steph Kostowicz leads UWM with 19.8 points per game and 10 rebounds per game. Junior guard Jenny Linder is second on the team averaging 17.3 points per game, while senior guard Sierra Ford-Washington averages 16 points per contest.
- NJIT enters the weekend at 2-2 this year. After early season wins over Wagner and DIII St. Joseph's Brooklyn, the Highlanders have lost their last two contests to Bucknell (67-36), and Fairleigh Dickinson (66-61). Alana Dudley leads NJIT with 14.3 points per game while Leah Horton is second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.8 points per game. LIU is 3-2 all-time against NJIT. The Highlanders defeated the Blackbirds, 53-44, in their last meeting at the Steinberg Wellness Center on December 9, 2015.
- Host Vermont begins the tournament with a 1-3 record. The Catamounts have faced off with three teams that the Blackbirds will see this year, and have lost to all of them: Bryant (L, 63-57). Central Connecticut (L, 78-76), and Yale (L, 77-48). Vermont's lone win was a 59-54 decision over Ivy League foe Dartmouth. Sophomore forward Candice Wright leads UVM averaging 12.3 points per game. Junior guard Sydney Smith is second on the team averaging 10.8 points per game, and freshman forward Hanna Crymble averages 10.3 points per contest.
