BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team hits the road once more, to take on two New York State rivals in two games over three days. The Blackbirds first head to Hamilton, N.Y., to face off against Colgate, Saturday, December 10 at 4 p.m., before returning to New York City to take on Columbia, Monday, December 12 at 7 p.m.

QUICK HITS
- The Blackbirds (1-7) are coming off a mid-week loss at Seton Hall Wednesday. Despite a late rally in the second half, LIU fell to the Pirate, 77-59. Freshman Aja Boyd and senior Shanovia Dove led LIU, with 16 points and six rebounds each, in what was a new career-high in points scored for Boyd. Boyd shot 5-for-10 from the field, and also had six rebounds in the loss.
- Colgate enters the match-up 2-6 on the season, with wins over Brown (67-62) and Towson on Thursday (76-71). The Raiders have lost to Columbia (75-67), Siena (71-63) and Cornell, as well as Providence, St. Bonaventure and on the road at Purdue.
- The Raiders are led by senior guard Katie Curtis, averaging 12.0 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game. She's also first on the team in assists (23) and steals (12). Freshman guard Rachel Thompson is the only other Colgate player averaging in double figures, at 10.9 points per game to go with her 4.6 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Mylah Chandler is the team's leading rebounder, averaging 7.3 per game.
- Columbia plays on the road at Binghamton Saturday, before hosting LIU Monday. The Lions are 6-2 overall, having lost to UMBC (67-56) and Stony Brook (55-53). Most recently, they're coming off of a 66-64 overtime win against Providence, but they've also beaten NEC foe Saint Francis U., 84-77 in Loretto earlier this season.
- Junior forward Camille Zimmerman leads the Lions with a 20.3 points per game average, along with a  team-high 9.8 rebounds per game. She is also the team's top blocker (nine so far this season), top passer (26 assists), and ties for the team-high with nine steals. In Columbia's win over Providence, Zimmerman had a season-high 27 points, including the game-winner in OT, along with 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals.
- Senior forward Tori Oliver is next on the team, with a 12.6 points per game average and 4.9 rebounds per game, while sophomore guard Paulina Koerner adds 9.9 points per game and is second on the team with 23 assists thus far.
