LORETTO, PA. - The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team has hit the road to take on the Pa. contingent of the Northeast Conference. The Blackbirds will take on Saint Francis U., Saturday, February 20 at 4 p.m. in Loretto, Pa., before traveling to Moon Township to take on Robert Morris Monday night.

LAST TIME OUT
• The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team fell to Central Connecticut State Monday night in the Steinberg Wellness Center, as the Blue Devils led wire to wire, taking the win, 65-57. With the loss, the Blackbirds fall to 8-17 overall and 6-8 in Northeast Conference play.
Sophomore Stylz Sanders led LIU with 11 points and nine rebounds, while Shanovia Dove had 10 points and five rebounds. Junior Brianna Farris had 10 points in the loss, while Shanice Vaughan added nine points, and DeAngelique Waithe had nine rebounds and three steals.

ALL-TIME SERIES
• Saint Francis U. leads the all time series between the two teams, 42-17. LIU and SFU have split contests for the last three seasons. Last year, the two teams split, both winning at home.
• Earlier this season, LIU rallied in the fourth quarter to close the lead to just five points with three minutes left in the game, but it would not be enough, as the Blackbirds dropped their Northeast Conference home opener, 84-75 to Saint Francis U.
• Sophomores Stylz Sanders and Paris Jones led LIU in the loss. Sanders had a career-high 14 points and six rebounds, while Jones had 12 points and three steals. Juniors Shanovia Dove and Brianna Farris added 11 points each, while Dove led the squad with nine rebounds. Sophomore DeAngelique Waithe added nine points in the loss, while senior Shanice Vaughan led the team with four assists.
• Saint Francis scored 31 points off of 27 Blackbird turnovers. The Red Flash was led by freshman Jessica Kovatch, who scored 30 points, while freshman Katie Reese had 13 points in the SFU victory.

SCOUTING THE RED FLASH
• Saint Francis enters the match-up at 11-14 overall, and 9-5 in NEC action, having clinched their spot in the post-season tournament.
• SFU is led by freshman guard/forward, Jessica Kovatch. The 12-time NEC Rookie of the Week averages 22.9 points per game, and 3.7 rebounds per game.
• The Red Flash also have three players scoring at least nine points per game: junior guard Katie Reese (9.7 points per game), senior guard Aisha Brock (9.3 points per game), and sophomore forward Maya Wunn (9.2 points per game). Freshman guard Brielle Ward is the team's leading rebounder, grabbing 7.8 rebounds per game.
