HACKENSACK, N.J. – The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team will hit the road to take on another local Northeast Conference foe Saturday afternoon, heading across the Hudson river to take on Fairleigh Dickinson. Tip-off for the contest, which is a part of a double header with the men's team, is scheduled for 2 p.m.

- The Blackbirds (2-15, 1-5 NEC) are looking to snap a six game losing streak. Last week, they fell to the CCSU Blue Devils, 76-71. It was LIU's highest point total of the season, behind a season-best 10 three-pointers made. Senior Shanovia Dove was a force for the Blackbirds, scoring 27 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and dishing out a team-high four assists. Senior Brianna Farris drained five three pointers for 15 points, while freshman Aja Boyd added ten points.
- Dove and Boyd rank in the tops in the conference in multiple categories. Dove leads LIU and is ranked fourth in the NEC, scoring 15.2 points per game. She's also ranked seventh in the NEC in steals (1.59 per game), and 13th in rebounds, nabbing 6.1 per contest.
- Boyd is ranked seventh in the conference in field goal percentage, with a .449 average, and ranks 10th in blocked shots per game (0.76). The freshman is also second on the team and 15th in the league in rebounds, with a 6.0 rebounds per game average, and adds 9.7 points per game (19th in the NEC).
- Fairleigh Dickinson enters the weekend tied with LIU for eighth in the conference standings, with a 3-14 overall record, and 1-5 in the NEC. The Knights' lone win was a 59-53 decision over Wagner. Since then, FDU has lost three straight, including falling to Mount Monday, 61-50.
- FDU has a high-pressure defense, as they rank second in the NEC with a team average of 9.35 points per game; the Knights also have three players ranked in the top 15 in the conference in steals per game.
- Redshirt senior guard Brianna Thomas is the team's top scorer, with 12.9 points per game, while senior guard Kianna Brown adds 9.5 points per game. 6-1 junior forward Amina Markovic is the top rebounds, with 5.7 boards per game, along with a team-high 13 blocks, and 7.8 points per game.
