Women's Soccer Plays Wagner To Scoreless Tie

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. --- The LIU Brooklyn women's soccer team remained unbeaten in Northeast Conference (NEC) action by playing the Wagner College Seahawks to a scoreless draw.Sunday afternoon at Hameline Field. The tie moved the Blackbirds' record to 3-6-2 overall and 1-0-1 in NEC play.

LIU dominated play despite not being able to capture the victory, outshooting Wagner 22-16 and putting half of their attempts on goal. The Blackbirds were also able to create more corner kicks that the host Seahawks (five to three).

Freshman Julianne Watts led LIU with six shots as a substitute while junior Marian Awad let the starting eleven with five shots attempted. Junior Aline Allmann started in goal and picked up her fourth shutout of the season and second in a draw.

LIU will host a pair of matches next week, beginning with an October 8 contest against Fairleigh Dickinson that will serve as the team's annual Alumni Day match.
