Women's Soccer Beaten By Saint Francis On Senior Day

BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- The LIU Brooklyn women's soccer team concluded its 2017 season Sunday afternoon as the Blackbirds conceded a 5-0 defeat to the Saint Francis U. Red Flash during a rain-soaked Senior Day matchup at LIU Field.

The team's four seniors - Brittany Galske, Erin Harbison, Natalie Henderson, and Jenn Peters - were honored in a pregame ceremony and were inserted into the starting lineup together for the final time.

Peters held nothing back in her final game in an LIU uniform, leading the Blackbirds in shot attempts with six. She and Galske each played a full 90 minutes as both teams battled a steady downpour throughout. Harbison played the full first half as she made her fourth start of the year and 14th overall before being relieved by junior Aline Allmann. Henderson saw action in both periods and played a total of 21 minutes.

The Red Flash were led by Alyssa McGhee's two second half goals and one apiece in the first from Gabi Morales, Shannon McGinnis, and Sara Suler.
