BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team celebrated senior Shanovia Dove's 1,000th career point Friday afternoon, marking the event with a surprise party for the team captain.
A four-year member of the team, Dove scored her 1,000th point when she made a free throw with 13 seconds left in LIU's game against Robert Morris on February 6th. With four games left in the regular season, she has tallied a career total of 1,037 points thus far. She currently ranks 18th on LIU's all-time scoring list.
Dove will also be honored Saturday, February 18, prior to the start of the game against Sacred Heart. She and classmates Brianna Farris and Dionne Coe will celebrate Senior Day with a pregame ceremony, that will also include an additional presentation to Dove that marks her career milestone.
LIU and Sacred Heart tip off at 3 p.m. Saturday, as the second part of a double header with the men's teams.
