BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team hosts Sacred Heart for their final home game of the 2017 regular season, this Saturday, February 18 at 3 p.m. Prior to the game, the Blackbirds will honoring their three graduating team members: graduate student
Dionne Coe, and seniors
Brianna Farris and
Shanovia Dove. Dove will also be honored prior to the start of the game for scoring her 1,000th career point against Robert Morris earlier this month.

- The Pioneers come into the weekend with a 14-11 overall record, and 11-3 in the Northeast Conference. SHU is currently tied for first place in the league with Robert Morris, and sits just one game ahead of third place Saint Francis U.
- LIU is still in playoff contention, just one game back from St. Francis Brooklyn (4-10). At 3-11, the Blackbirds need help from the Terriers, but could still see an NEC berth come their way.
- The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team came within two points of upending Bryant Monday night in the Chace Athletic Center, but turnovers cost the Blackbirds late in the game, and LIU fell to the Bulldogs, 57-53. Senior Shanovia Dove led all players in both points and rebounds, notching her fifth double double of the season, with 21 points and 11 rebounds
- Last time Sacred Heart and LIU faced off, SHU took the win at home, 66-48. The Pioneers were led by Hannah Kimmel and Katherine Haines, who each recorded a double-double in the victory. Kimmel finished the night with 18 points, and 11 rebounds, while Haines finished with 16 points, and 11 boards.
- SHU leads the all-time series over LIU, 19-16, and has won the last four straight.
- The Blackbirds are led by senior Shanovia Dove (15.6 points per game, 5.8 rebounds per game), and freshman Aja Boyd (10.6 points per game, 6.6 rebounds per game).
- Up next, LIU will travel less than a mile down the road for a Presidents' Day matchup with the St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers, Monday, Februrary 20 at 1 p.m.
