BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- LIU Brooklyn women's cross country head coach
Janine Hunter released her program's 2017 meet schedule Monday afternoon. The six-race regular season slate will begin on Saturday, September 2 at the Monmouth University Cross Country Kick-Off at Thompson Park in Lincroft, N.J.
The Monmouth meet will be the first of three consecutive meets for the Blackbirds in the New York/New Jersey area and one of four in total. LIU will compete at the Fordham Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx on Saturday, September 9 and the Rider University Invitational at Rosedale Park in Pennington, N.J. on Saturday, Saturday September 15.
LIU's next two events will take the team out of the area: north to the 15th Annual Ted Owen Cross Country Invitational at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, Conn. (Sept. 23) and south to the Disney Cross Country Classic at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Fla. (Oct. 6-7).
The Blackbirds will wrap up the regular season back in New York at the St. John's University Cross Country Fall Festival at Cunningham Park in Queens on Sunday, October 15.
The Northeast Conference (NEC) Cross Country Championship will take place back in New Britain on Saturday, October 29.

Adjovi Simpini (45th in 2016) will be one of three seniors and five upperclassmen returning for the Blackbirds and will be joined by five newcomers (four freshmen and one graduate transfer).
