SAINT LOUIS, Missouri – The LIU Brooklyn field hockey team scored its first goal of the season Wednesday evening, as Blackbirds fell to Saint Louis, 5-1 in the road match. Freshman 
Jenna Chrabolowski scoring her first collegiate goal to get LIU on the board in the first period.
 
The Blackbirds, coming off of two straight 1-0 shutouts last weekend, tied the game up just before the half. Saint Louis got on the board first, scoring off a corner in the 18
th minute of action. LIU was able to answer in the 26
th minute. Senior 
Amy Reid passed the ball off to Chrabolowski on a corner, and the freshman scored, knotting the game up, 1-1. The Bilikens would take the lead into the half, however, scoring twice more in the final minutes of the first to lead, 3-1.
 
The home team would add two more tallies in the second half to win by a final score of 5-1.
 
Sophomore 
Molly Jannell had seven saves for LIU in the net. Freshman 
Eveline Gielisse had a shot for the Blackbirds, as well as a defensive save, while sophomores 
Haley Ballard and 
Marisa Batista also had defensive saves for LIU. Freshman 
Eva Scholten also registered a shot in the loss.
