Women's Cross Country | Sep 16 | Cross Country Runs Fourth At Rider Invitational Story Links Results PENNINGTON, N.J. --- In its second women's cross country race of the young season, LIU Brooklyn finished fourth overall at the Rider University XC Invite Friday evening at Rosedale Park. LIU tallied 115 points, posting a total time of 2:11.18 and an average mark of 26:16. The Blackbirds were led by freshman Ashton Burton, who earned her first top-20 individual finish by placing 20th with a time 25:06.02. Fellow newcomer Alyssa Frausto rounded out the top 25 in the race with a mark of 25:24.73 while senior Adjovi Simpini was two spots away in 27th (25:33.51). Junior Liz Burton and freshman Nerene Aberdeen were the final two Blackbirds to score, finishing 42nd (27:00.97) and 47th (28:11.87), respectively. LIU's final two runners still managed to make the top 50 - junior Zaahira Deboise was 48th with a time of 28:15.28 while freshman Stephanie Reyes was 50th with a mark of 28:35.21. NEXT UP LIU will compete next week at the 15th Annual Ted Owen XC Invitational, hosted by Central Connecticut. The race will take place on Saturday, September 23rd in New Britain.
