Petty-Evans led all players with a new career-high with 27 points, hitting 10-of-14 shots from the field, 4-of-6 from three-point range, and 3-for-3 from the free throw line. The performance eclipsed her previous career best of 26 points from her third-ever game as a Blackbird on November 17, 2017 at UMBC. Petty-Evans added three steals and matched her season-high of three assists. Senior DeAngelique Waithe was one rebound shy of her sixth straight double-double, tallying 11 points and nine boards. LIU (7-10, 3-3 NEC) scored first on a free throw from Waithe took its largest lead in the first quarter, breaking an 11-11 tie with a three pointer from redshirt junior Drew Winter. However, Bryant (5-12, 4-2 NEC) went on a 7-0 run to take an 18-14 lead and go ahead for good. The Blackbirds produced their best quarter in the third after the Bulldogs pushed their lead to 19 points in the second. LIU outscored Bryant 19-10 to open the second half and eventually pulled to within eight (59-51) halfway through the fourth. OTHER NOTES For the first time all season, the Blackbirds entered the game with a different starting lineup. Seneca Richards debuted in the starting five in place of freshman Jeydah Johnson. Freshman Ella Vaatanen had her best game as a Blackbird, hitting both of her three-point attempts to score a season-best six points. LIU set a new season mark in three-point percentage by hitting half of their triples (7-for-14), besting their performance against Navy on December 20, 2017 (6-for-13; .462). The Blackbirds also tied their season best in steals with 14, matching the number of swipes the team recorded at George Mason on December 7, 2017.
