HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.— The LIU Brooklyn field hockey team ended its non-non-conference slate on Sunday afternoon, falling to Hofstra 7-1 at Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium.

The Pride would open the scoring just under the two minute mark in the first half. Hofstra added another goal in the eighth minute and a penalty stroke goal at 15:30 before ending the first half with one final score at 27th minute for the 4-0 lead.

The home team continued to apply pressure offensively to start the second half with three goals in the first 13 minutes of the half for the 7-0 advantage. LIU would get on the board in the 54th minute as freshman Eva van Wakeren found sophomore Jenna Chrabolowski in front of the goal for the chip in to bring the score to the eventual final 7-1.

Chrabolowski's second half score was her fourth of the season and gives the forward goals in back-to-back games for the Blackbirds. van Wakeren picked up her second assist of the season for LIU. Redshirt-sophomore Casey Carrigan recorded her second defensive save of the season.

Junior Molly Jannell picked up four saves in 48 minutes in goal and sophomore Bridget Elison added another save for the Blackbirds in 22 minutes in goal.
