BROOKLYN, N.Y.-- The LIU Brooklyn continues its road stretch with a trip to Jersey City on Saturday afternoon to take on Saint Peter's for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off from the Yanitelli Center.
- Last time out, the Blackbirds fell to Fairfield 71-43 at Webster Bank Arena on Tuesday night. After a tightly contested opening half, the Stags shot 55.6% from the field in the second half to secure the win over LIU.
- Freshman Brandy Thomas fresh off her NEC Rookie of the Week nod, scored a career-high 16 points against the Stags. She also secured 10 boards for her third straight double-double. Sophomore Ella Vaatanen and junior Seneca Richards both added six points each and freshman Shyla Sanford recorded five points for LIU.
- The Blackbirds matchup against its third Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foe of the season in Saint Peter's. The Peacocks enter Saturday's matchup with a 1-2 record under first-year head coach Marc Mitchell. Reigning MAAC Rookie of the Week Briyanah Richardson leads the team in scoring with 16.0 points per game, she also leads the team with 4.0 assists per game. Zoe Pero is also averaging double-figures with 12.3 points per game.
- As a team, Saint Peter's plays lock-down defense on the perimeter holding opponents to 14.6 percent from behind the arc, that leads the MAAC and ranks 10th in the nation.
- In the all-time series, Saint Peter's leads 7-2, with LIU winning the last two meetings including a 57-46 victory at the Steinberg Center last season. Jeydah Johnson was one of three Blackbirds to record double figures in the game, scoring 17 points to go along with five rebounds.

The Blackbirds will head out west next week for the Grand Canyon Thanksgiving Classic, November 23-24. LIU will take on UC Irvine on Friday, November 23 at 4:00 p.m. before closing the weekend Grand Canyon University on Saturday.
