BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU Brooklyn men's basketball team had a total team win in their home and season opener Tuesday night in the Steinberg Wellness Center, as the Blackbirds beat the College of New Rochelle, 109-76. All 12 players on the active roster scored points in the game, with six LIU players scoring in double digits. It was the most points in a game for the Blackbirds since the 2002-03 season.

Ty Flowers had a strong debut in his first time on the court in an LIU uniform. The redshirt sophomore, who had to sit out last year due to transfer regulations, had a career high in points (21), rebounds (10), assists (6) and blocks (4) for the Blackbirds. Senior Raul Frias also had career highs in points (19) and rebounds (9), while senior Raiquan Clark led the team with 22 points, nine rebounds, since steals and five assists.
