Shyheim Hicks at 5:39 to make it 23-12 in favor of LIU. Just 20 seconds later, Frias would hit a three-pointer that gave the Blackbirds their widest lead of the game, 26-14. LIU would hang on to the lead from there, and led, 30-20 at the break.
Binghamton started coming back right as the second half started. The visitors would start on a 6-0 run to close the lead to 30-26, forcing LIU to call a timeout. From there, the two teams battled back and forth. The Blackbirds would hold on to the advantage, but Binghamton would keep fighting, and eventually tie the game up at 41-41 with 12 minutes left to play. Over the next two minutes, however, LIU would answer with a 6-0 run, including four points from Flowers, to retake the lead, 47-41 with 10 minutes left.
LIU would use another 6-0 run to widen the gap to 60-51 with 2:52 to play. But a big three from the Beartcats at 1:23 kept them within striking distance, 62-59. Junior
Jashaun Agosto would make three free throws in the final minutes to keep the Blackbirds up, 67-64, but as the clock wound down, J.C. Show made one of two free throws, and the visitors collected the rebound on his missed free throw. Inbounding the ball from the baseline, Binghamton found Show in the corner, where he put up a three as the buzzer sounded, giving the Bearcats the last-second victory, 68-67.
