BROOKLYN, N.Y.— LIU Brooklyn women's basketball freshman Brandy Thomas earned her second Northeast Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week honor of the season. Thomas recorded her seventh straight double-double in a narrow setback against UMass-Lowell this past Thursday.
The first-year standout picked up 12 points and secured a game-high 14 rebounds in 22 minutes against the River Hawks. She paces the NEC with 13.0 rebounds per game and ranks sixth in the conference in scoring with 14.3 points per game. Nationally, Thomas is tied for the nations lead in double-doubles with seven to start her career. She ranks third in the country with an average of six offensive rebounds per game and eighth nationally with 13.0 rebounds per game average.
LIU travels to Michigan on Thursday, December 6 for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off at the Crisler Center.
