BROOKLYN, N.Y.— Brandy Thomas of the LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team was tabbed Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for the third time this season as announced by the league office Monday afternoon. 

Thomas helped LIU close out non-conference play with a 55-50 win over Lafayette this past Saturday at the Steinberg Center. She was one of two Blackbirds to score in double figures as she contributed 11 points to go along with eight rebounds and three steals. Her near double-double effort was the ninth time she has led LIU in rebounds this season. The first-year standout closed out non-conference play ranked in the NEC's top-seven leaders in both scoring and rebounding. 

Up next, the Blackbirds begin NEC play with a trip up to Bryant on Saturday, January 5 for 1:00 p.m. start.
