CLINTON, S.C. - The LIU Brooklyn women's lacrosse team won their second straight game Tuesday afternoon, beating Presbyterian on the road, 14-6. Freshman
Amanda Masullo led the Blackbirds in the win, scoring four goals.
The home team got on the board first in the game, but the Blackbirds would answer in force, scoring nine unanswered goals in the first half.
Carlie Robinson tied it up 1-1 with LIU's first goal of the game, followed by back-to-back unassisted goals from freshman
Rachel Masullo to make it 3-1.
Amanda Masullo added an unassisted goal at the 22 minute mark to make it 4-1, her first of three in the half.
Bianca Santucci added a goal off a pass from
Dale Cosgrave, who led LIU with four assists.
Amanda Masullo would connect with
Sierra O'Connor to make it 6-1, before freshman
Elise Person scored back to back goals to give the Blackbirds an 8-1 lead.
Amanda Masullo would add one more before the half ended to give LIU a 9-1 lead at the half.
LIU carried the momentum into the second half, as
Amanda Masullo would score again just seven minutes in to make it 10-1. Robinson added back-to-back goals to make it 12-3, and then senior
Sierra O'Connor got in on the scoring, with back to back goals to close out the second half, giving LIU the 14-6 win.
Freshman
Sam Kidd had seven saves in net in the first half, while
Virginia Gibbons had four saves in the second half. Up next, LIU takes on Wofford, Thursday, March 15 at 4 p.m.
