BROOKLYN, N.Y.— The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team hosts Mount St. Mary's for a Monday night matchup at the Steinberg Center. Tip-off between the Blackbirds and Mountaineers is set for 7:00 p.m.
NOTES FROM THE NEST
- LIU's late rally fell just short on Saturday afternoon as Wagner held on for a 66-62 win. The Blackbirds registered a season-high 50 rebounds on the day, the team's first 50-rebound game since February 7, 2015.
- Four scorers reached double figures for the second straight game for the Blackbirds Brandy Thomas finished with 13 points and a game-high 14 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the season. Sophomore Jeydah Johnson tallied 13 points and eight rebounds of LIU. Freshman Tiya Misir added a career-high 12 points and classmate Ryan Weise netted 10 points.
- The Mountaineers lead the all-time series lead at 33-23. Mount won the first meeting between both teams with 61-45 win over the Blackbirds back on January 26. Sophomore Jeydah Johnson led LIU with 14 points and six rebounds and freshman Ryan Weise added 11 points.
- Mount comes into Monday's matchup at 10-11 overall and 4-6 in league play. The Mountaineers rank second in the conference in made three-point field goals with 8.7 per game and turnovers forced at 16.9 per contest. Senior Juliette Lawless leads the NEC in field goal percentage at 51.3% and ranks fourth among league leaders in scoring with 17.5 points per game. Five-time NEC Rookie of The Week ranks second on the team with 12.5 points per game.
