BROOKLYN, N.Y.— Brandy Thomas of the LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for the third consecutive week on Wednesday afternoon. Thomas averaged 12.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists on the road for the Blackbirds this past week en route to her sixth rookie of the week honor of the season.
The first-year standout had a well-balanced effort in the Blackbirds road win over defending NEC champion Saint Francis U this past Saturday. She recorded 10 points, seven rebounds and a career-high five assists in the 75-69 win over the Red Flash.
Thomas followed that up with 15 points and 17 rebounds at first-place Robert Morris on Monday. She added a two assists and two steals against the Colonials. Her 12 double-doubles rank second in the conference.
The Blackbirds host CCSU for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, March 2 for Senior Day.
