STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The LIU Brooklyn women's tennis team continued its winning ways Friday afternoon on Staten Island, as the Blackbirds beat Wagner, 6-0. The Blackbirds dropped just one set in the entire dual match Friday, beating the Seahawks handily. With the win, LIU's fifth-straight, the team moves to 10-7 overall in dual matches, and 4-0 in the Northeast Conference.
 
In doubles, the Blackbirds swept all three matches. Anna Grigoryan and Ana Leonte teamed up to win at No. 1, 6-2, while Malin Leysen and Jennifer Gogova beat their opponents in the No. 3 spot, 6-1. And Jessica Brzozowska and Sasha Bollweg completed the sweep, beating their Wagner foes at No. 2, 7-5.
 
In singles, LIU had four straight set wins to clinch the match win. Bollweg was the first to triumph, beating Samantha Lugtu at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-2. Grigoryan was next, giving LIU a 3-0 lead with her win over Vedika Anand in the No. 1 spot, 6-1, 6-2. And Brzozowska clinched match point with her victory at No. 2 singles, where she beat Fidan Khalilzade, 6-3, 6-2.

At No. 4 singles, Leysen would rally back from a first set loss to beat Rina Baynes in a tiebreaker, 5-7, 6-1, 10-5, and senior Clemence Krug had the final win, as she beat Melanie Post at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Leonte was leading Alegra D'Alessandro, 6-3, 4-2 in the No. 5 spot, when their match was called due to rain.
 
Up next, the Blackbirds travel to take on Sacred Heart, Saturday, April 13 at 6 p.m., in the final dual match of the regular season.
