2014: Named Northeast Conference Libero of the Year, becoming the first player ever to earn the award in three consecutive seasons… Two-time NEC Defensive Player of the Week… Led LIU defensively all season, with a team-high 536 digs… Finished third in the NEC in digs per set (4.66) and fifth in the NEC in service aces (0.30 aces per set)… Led LIU with 35 total service aces… Finished with nine 20+ dig performances… Set a new career-high with 31 digs in win over No.25 Michigan State… Had 27 digs and two service aces in win over Temple… Had 22 digs and three service aces against Navy… Had 20 digs and three service aces in win over CCSU.
2013: Named Northeast Conference Libero of the Year for the second-straight season… Became the first player in NEC history to win the award back-to-back… Named to the 2013 NEC Fall Commissioner’s Honor Roll and the 2013 NEC Academic Honor Roll… Two-time NEC Defensive Player of the Week… Started every single one of LIU’s 31 games, playing a team-high 105 sets… Finished with a team-high 460 digs, for a 4.38 digs per set average… Also led LIU and finished sixth in the NEC in service aces, with 31 total, for a 0.30 aces per set average… Also finished second on the squad in assists, with 104… Was one of the main reasons LIU was the top team in the league defensively, limiting opponents to a .148 hitting percentage… Had five matches with 20+ digs, including a season-high 28-dig performance against UMKC… Had a double-double against Tulsa, with 26 digs and 10 assists… Had 24 digs against Fairfield, and 22 against Bryant… Had 12 digs and a season-high four service aces versus St. Francis Brooklyn… Finished the season with 18 matches where she had 15+ digs.
2012: Named Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Year… Earned first-team All-NEC honors… Was named to NEC Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll… Led the NEC in digs per set, with a 4.30 average, almost a full dig more than any other libero in the league… Led LIU on defense, finishing the season with 500 digs…Played in 117 sets for the Blackbirds… Finished the season with 21 service aces and 72 assists… Had a season-high 29 digs and three service aces against Albany… Had four service aces against Saint Francis University… Had 25 digs and five assists at Fairleigh Dickinson… Had 20+ digs in six different matches for LIU, including against NEC opponents FDU, CCSU, Bryant and Robert Morris.
Background: Played six years of varsity volleyball at Colegio Marista in Puerto Rico... Earned Most Valuable Player honors in all six of her seasons... Ranked as athlete with highest GPA in school, and earned medals for conduct and for maintaining high average throughout high school... Played for Team VB Rags Volleyball Academy, helping team to first-place finish at Junior Olympics and Junior Volleyball Association New Orleans tournament.
