Background: Earned five varsity letters in basketball and three in track & field in high school… Played at Cary Academy, Hillside and Providence Day School… Named basketball team captain at Providence Day in her senior season… Led Providence Day to a first-place league finish that year… Also helped Hillside to Eastern Regional runner-up finishes in her sophomore and junior years… Earned All-Conference honors in track & field in her junior year in the 4x800 relay.
Personal: Daughter of Tyra and Victor Powell… Has two older twin sisters, Brittany and Brianna… Three-year member of the National Honor Society… Three-time recipient of the Superintendent’s Award… Mother, Tyra, played basketball at Baron College… Grandfather played football at Howard.
