2017: Saw action in 48 games (46 starts), batting .268 with 38 hits, 21 RBI, four home runs, 15 walks, four doubles and one stolen base...had eight mult-hit games, with the best coming in a 3-for-5 showing with two RBI against Princeton.
Prior to LIU: Played two seasons for Bethune Cookman (2015-16), starting 20 games as a freshman and batting .286 with 14 runs batted in before suffering a season-ending injury.
Background: Played for Warren High School in Downey, Calif. As a senior, hit .410 with five home runs and 25 RBIs to help the Bears to a 22-9 record and an appearance in the CIF Southern Sectional Playoffs.
Personal: Daughter of Veronica Lopez and Guillermo Gutierrez...has two younger siblings, Arianna and Guillermo...plans to become a social worker with a focus in child welfare.
