2017: Made nine saves as the team’s top closer, which ranks second all-time in LIU history for a single season… Made a team-high 25 appearances… Finished the season with 46 strikeouts in 39.2 innings, all in relief… Had a 2-3 record with a 4.99 ERA… Was scoreless in 15 of his 25 outings, giving up only 15 walks… Threw 3.1 scoreless innings against Mount St. Mary’s, while striking out five batters… Pitched a season-high 3.2 clean innings out of the bullpen versus Fairleigh Dickinson in May.
 
2016: Made a team-high 31 appearances for the Blackbirds, all in relief… Threw 53.2 innings with 31 strikeouts and racked up two saves… Had 14 scoreless outings on the season, including six straight from mid-March to early April… Struck out a season-high four batters in 2.2 innings versus Sacred Heart… Named to the NEC Academic Honor Roll.

Background: Earned 12 varsity letters at Derby, playing football, basketball and baseball… A four-year starter for the Red Raiders as both a pitcher and a shortstop… Team captain for both football and baseball… Named All-Naugatuck Valley League Conference twice and All-Area his senior season… Selected to the State All-Star Game, the Perfect Game Northeast Team, and the Perfect Game All-American team as an honorable mention… Also played for the Connecticut Grind, the Perfect Game Northeast Regional champions… Finished his high school career with a 1.04 ERA, and 106 strikeouts in his senior season… Also eared All-Conference honors in football three times at quarterback.
