Background: Transferred to LIU after two seasons at Bakersfield College in California… Was a two-time All-Western State Conference second team honoree… Hit .335 as a sophomore in 40 games played at catcher, finishing the year with 52 hits, 25 RBI and 22 runs scored… Was the team’s designated hitter in his freshman season, hitting .323 with 23 runs scored, 17 RBI and five stolen bases… Played four years at Centennial High School… Named first team All-Southwest Yosemite League after both junior and senior seasons... Also earned All-Area honors in his senior season, after finishing with a. 372 batting average… Also played football.
