Casey Snedecor was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics/Director of Media Relations in December of 2016, after four years as Assistant Director of Media Relations. She serves as the primary contact for several Blackbird teams, including men’s basketball, men’s soccer, bowling and women’s lacrosse. She also oversees all day-to-day operations of the athletic media relations office, including the department’s social media, event staffing and management, budget and departmental publicity efforts.
 
In her time at LIU Brooklyn, Snedecor has overseen a transformation in the department’s marketing and social media efforts, as the lead graphic designer and social media director. She has worked as the primary contact for volleyball, men's soccer, field hockey, men's basketball, women’s basketball, men's and women's golf, softball, bowling, baseball and women's lacrosse in her time with the Blackbirds.

She is also an official game day statistician for the NBA's Brooklyn Nets, and has worked every major college basketball game at the Barclays, including serving as an official statistician for the ACC Tournament, the A10 Tournament, and the NCAA First and Second Rounds in 2016.
 
Snedecor came to LIU after four years at Columbia University, where she worked with over half of the department’s 32 teams in her tenure, including women’s basketball, volleyball, football, tennis, cross country/track & field, swimming & diving and archery.  In her four years with the Lions, she ran five Ivy League championship meets in three sports, and helped administer two NCAA Regional events and a national tennis tournament. She also served as the Director of Social Media, spearheading efforts on Facebook and Twitter, helping the department grow its online presence to reach thousands of fans.
 
Prior to her time at Columbia, the Kennett Square, Pa. native spent time as the Media Manager for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and as an Athletic Communications Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania. Snedecor also spent a year as a sports reporter for the MPG newspaper group in Plymouth, Mass., covering high school sports and the Cape Cod Baseball League.
 
After graduating from Clark University in 2005 with a B.A. in English and international studies, Snedecor received her master's degree in Sports Management, graduating with highest honors from California University of Pennsylvania in December of 2008. She resides in Brooklyn.
