Jim Mack joined the LIU Brooklyn men's basketball staff in 2013-14, after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Springfield College, his alma mater. The former director of basketball operations of the program in 2014-15, Mack was promoted to assistant coach in 2015-16.
Mack played for Springfield from 2002-2006 and was a member of the 2005 squad that reached the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. Following graduation, Mack spent six seasons on the coaching staff at Sabis Charter School in Springfield, five of which he served as the Bulldogs head coach.
During those five years, Mack led Sabis to three Western Massachusetts titles, two trips to the state championship game, and a Division II state title in 2010. He was twice honored as the Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2008 and 2010 and was named the
Springfield Republican Coach of the Year in 2011. During his five-year run, the Bulldogs had an impressive 93-22 record.
Mack graduated from Springfield College with a bachelor's degree in mathematics in 2006 and his master's degree in sport management in 2014.
