Lois Kim was named head coach of the Blackbird women's golf program in the fall of 2017. A former local Division I standout, professional player and instructor, Kim brings a variety of high-level experience to Brooklyn in her first-ever head coaching role.

"I am more than honored to be appointed as the women's golf head coach at LIU and I am fortunate to have the chance to work with such talented women and represent this great university," Kim said. "I am very excited about this position and can't wait to get started with the Blackbirds. This team deserves the best and that is what I aim to deliver. I would like to thank Deputy Athletic Director Margaret Alaimo for this great opportunity."

"Her knowledge and experience as both a player and teacher will enable her to make an instant connection with our student-athletes. We are confident that Lois will continue to build on the academic and athletic success that our program has achieved in recent years and lead us to new heights."

Kim is no stranger to the New York City area as the Queens native spent her collegiate playing career in her hometown at St. John's University from 2006-10. She earned multiple spots on the BIG EAST Academic All-Star team, improved her game every year (from a 81.83 freshman average to 78.66 senior average), and was awarded the Elizabeth Lapchick Award, which celebrates academic progression over a student-athlete's four years at St. John's. Kim is also listed in the St. John's record books with one of the third-lowest scores in program history - a 1-under 70 at the 2007 Treasure Coast Classic as a freshman.

Kim has honed her craft and imparted her wisdom on others since graduating from St. John's. She spent four years (2011-15) on the National Women's Golf Association (NWGA) Tour, formerly known as the SunCoast Ladies Pro Golf Tour, and has worked as a teaching professional at the Harbor Links Golf Course in Port Washington, N.Y. since 2010.

Her active certifications include credentials the PGA (Apprentice), Titleist (Performance Institute Level 2), U.S. Kids Golf (Instructor), and Kinstretch (Functional Range Conditioning).
