Greg Fox enters his 10th year as associate director of athletics at LIU Brooklyn. He is responsible for the department’s external relations, including overseeing its marketing, development, corporate sponsorship, ticketing and community relations efforts.
 
For the previous eight years, Fox served as director of athletic media relations, where he was responsible for the promotion of the department’s 17 teams. During his tenure, he upgraded all athletic publications along with the department’s Web site.

Fox also acted as the primary contact for the men’s basketball team and worked with director of athletics John Suarez to spearhead the LIU Athletics Hall of Fame. In his current role, he works closely with Suarez on several projects, including the re-establishment of the Blackbird Club, merchandising, promotions and a continuing effort to upgrade facilities. Fox also acts as event manager for home athletic contests, chairs the LIU Athletics Hall of Fame committee and organizes several annual alumni reunions.

Fox worked at Fairleigh Dickinson University from 1993-94 and was involved in the day-to-day operation of its athletics program. During that year, he was in charge of the campus’ annual golf outing, supervised the department’s work study program and was involved in several aspects of the physical education department.

From 1988-90, Fox had his first stint at Fairleigh Dickinson as the assistant sports information director. Fox, who teaches undergraduate courses in journalism and sports marketing at LIU, received his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson in 1988. He earned his master’s degree in human resource management from LIU Brooklyn in 2003. Fox and his wife, Mary Anne, reside in Haworth, N.J.
